WHAT WE DO

No Small Plans Productions is a Chicago-based event production and public relations studio. Helmed by award-winning event producer Kristen Kaza,  NSP puts relationships at center of the conversation, providing partners and clients with opportunities to truly engage with audiences and showcase their work and mission. NSP aims to create work that both provides a platform for Chicago's creatives and an immersive experience for guests.

NSP provides the following services: Event planning and production, publicity, media strategy, brand development, and audience development & engagement. We bring together a unique team of highly creative people in the fields of design, performance, production, and the arts to curate one-of-a-kind experiences that build brand recognition and loyalty. We don't believe vinyl banners and hashtags will be what makes your brand memorable, but instead the good people that come together to make the experience special.

HOW WE DO IT

By combining our signature trifecta of Event Planning, Production and Public Relations we aim to create welcoming spaces for people of diverse identities and expressions to experience entertainment in a locally-supportive, intimate, and authentic format.  We especially love working with organizations that work to create positive change and strengthen communities

WHO WE ARE

Kristen Kaza - Principal, Senior Event Producer, Publicist

Kristen, a tenth generation Vermonter,  has worked in marketing, events and community engagement for Time Out Chicago, Whole Foods Market, and the Chicago Reader since she moved to the Chicago in 2003. As the Reader's Director of Marketing, Kristen lead the marketing charge for the print and digital Reader redesign, re-focusing marketing efforts on community engagement via participatory content, social media, and interactive events. In 2012, she channeled her entrepreneurial calling and launched No Small Plans Productions, with the simple but crucial goal of creating events that would bring really great people together to experience really great local entertainment. Since launching the company, she's been busy producing pride cruises on pirate boats, underground dinners at secret speakeasies, galas in nature conservatories, costumed premiere parties, and rousing downtown rallies.

Kristen is a very active leader in the LGBTQ community, and in 2009 was recognized with a 30 Under 30 honor from Windy City Media Group for her accomplishments.  In 2014, Kristen was voted Best Party Promoter in the Chicago Reader's Readers' Poll, and her R&B dance party "Slo 'Mo: Slow jams for homos (and their fans)" won Best LGBTQ Dance Party and Runner Up for Best Dance Party. Kristen regularly works with filmmaker Ky Dickens,  creator of notable documentaries Fish out of Water and Sole Survivor, recently acquired by CNN Films.

She also teaches public relations at her alma mater, Columbia College Chicago and sits on advisory committees for the Gene Siskel Film Center and About Face Theatre. In her spare time, you can find her in the kitchen baking or hunting for her next jumpsuit.
